To publish your website on the net you need to register an available domain name.

A domain name can be up to 64 characters long. However, it is much better to have a short and meaningful name; after all you want people to be able to remember it!

You can use a combination of digits, letters in upper or lower case (or a combination) and hyphens, but not spaces. Thus, domains like "yourdomain.com" and "your-domain.com" are valid, while "your domain.com" is illegal (no space permitted).

Any names we register for you are in your name and you are free to host your website wherever you wish without incurring any transfer fees.

Registering your domain name

N.B. Many domain registrars offer a seemingly cheap domain name registry service.  This is because they want you to use their web hosting services (which generally are more expensive than ours).  If you choose to transfer the name to another server they may charge you a fee (typically £25 - £50).
